What Exactly Is A Patriot?
During the American Revolution approximately one-third of the people were Patriots, someone who turned against the British Government in hopes to gain their freedom. A Patriot is the exact opposite of a Loyalist, these people wanted to break free from the British and create their own country.

Patriot's view:
They saw the Loyalists or "Tories" according to them, as traitors, believing that the British taxes were not legal, the British were taking away their rights, and property, that they did not have fair representation in parliament, and that the British were causing more violence, riots and death than they were doing good.
